Many times it has been thought that the most guarded residences in the world were, like those of any head of state, the homes of opulent royalty members, such as the British royal family. However, that is not always the reality.
Recently, alarming news broke that the Windsor Castle, where Prince William, his wife Kate Middleton, and their children George, Charlotte, and Louis reside, was breached.
What is known about the robbery at Windsor Castle, where the Prince of Wales lives?
According to the British press, two hooded individuals entered and robbed in the vicinity of Windsor Castle. As reported by the media, the incident took place on the night of October 13th while the heir to the British throne, along with Kate and their three children, were sleeping nearby in Adelaide Cottage.
These two individuals forced and blocked the security door of the property using a truck, which allowed them to access the gardens. One of those doors is usually used by the royal family to enter and exit their property.
The perpetrators of the robbery arrived at a barn on Shaw Farm, just a few meters away from where the family members were sleeping, and took a black Isuzu truck and a red quad bike.
In addition, English media suggest that these individuals visited other areas of the residence such as Old Windsor and Datchet. However, so far there have been no arrests while the investigation is still ongoing.
According to the Daily Mail, “the attackers must have been observing the movements at Windsor Castle for a good amount of time” as the alarms of the residence did not sound until they opened the security door.
