Denmark’s delegate, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, was crowned the new Miss Universe 2024, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Mexico City.

As the first runner-up was Miss Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina,, the second runner-up was the representative of Mexico, Fernanda Beltrán,, Miss Thailand, Suchata Chuangsri, placed as the third runner-up, and the fourth runner-up was Miss Venezuela, Ileana Márquez Pedroza.

Among the 12 semifinalists, the contestants from: Argentina, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, and Russia remained.
Meanwhile, the representatives of France, India, Serbia, Vietnam, Cuba, China, Japan, Egypt, Macao, the Philippines, Ecuador, Malaysia, Aruba, Finland, the Dominican Republic, Cambodia, Nicaragua, and Zimbabwe made it to the top 30 semifinalists.
This is the first crown for Denmark.
Mexico has been the host of Miss Universe in the editions of 1978, 1989, 1993, 2007, and 2024. In '93, Puerto Rican Dayanara Torres Delgado won the third universal crown for Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rican Jennifer Colón did not convince the judges with her blue dress and placed among the 12 semifinalists.
The candidates from Puerto Rico have been consistently placing in Miss Universe since the 2018 pageant. In seven contests (from 2018 to 2024), the island has achieved four Top 5 finishes (2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023). The only ones who remained in the Top 10 semifinalists were Estefanía Soto Torres (2020), Michelle Marie Colón (2021), and Jennifer Colón Alvarado (2024), who made it to the Top 12.
Miss Denmark was crowned with the jewel called "Light of Infinity", valued at $5 million and featuring golden pearls, gold, and diamonds.
A blonde has not been crowned Miss Universe since 2004 when Australian Jennifer Hawkins won the title.
