The houses of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in Kansas were robbed on consecutive days

The burglaries at the homes of the Kansas City Chiefs players happened just before and on the day of their 26-13 home victory against the New Orleans Saints.

Football players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were victims of consecutive robberies at their residences in Kansas, as reported by The Associated Press.

The thefts at the Kansas City Chiefs' NFL stars, which were initially reported by TMZ, occurred just before and on the day of the 26-13 home victory against the New Orleans Saints on October 7th. According to authorities, no one was injured in these incidents.

"Obviously it's frustrating, disappointing," expressed the quarterback before Wednesday's practice.

What is known about the consecutive burglaries at the homes of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce?

One day before the Monday 7th game, the police were called to a house that matches Mahomes' address, in a private resort-style community in the northwest of Cass County, just south of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The football player said he couldn't provide many details because the investigation is ongoing. He described it as "something you don't want to happen to anyone, and obviously not to yourself."

However, as reported by AP, their name does not appear in the police report. The one-page document shows that another person called just after midnight on October 6th to report what was classified as a robbery, with no missing items described.

Ronnie Lozano, a spokesperson for the police department, wrote in an email that the investigation is active and declined to answer other questions, including whether there had been any arrests. The county prosecutor did not immediately respond to an email seeking comments.

Following this incident, on the night of the 7th, while the Chiefs were playing against the Saints at Arrowhead Stadium, a house matching Kelce's address was burglarized in the affluent suburb of Leawood, just across the state line in Kansas. The report of the burglary was not filed until the following morning, according to the police crime report obtained by AP.

Kelce's name also does not appear in the report, which recorded losses totaling $20,000 in cash and damages to a back door. The 16,000-square-foot (1,440 square meters) house includes a basement, backyard pool, and a six-car garage.

“The Leawood Police Department does not comment on specific crime victims except in the case of fatal crashes or homicides,” said police captain Jason Ahring in an email.
