Elon Musk in trouble: the Department of Justice could take action after the elections

The billionaire has created a sort of lottery that encourages people to register to vote, which is punishable by law.

Elon Musk could have gotten into serious trouble with the United States Department of Justice by funding an initiative that encourages people to register to vote.

It is known as Political Action Committee or super PAC, which is part of its support for the election campaign of former President Donald Trump, in which it raffles one million dollars daily until election day.

It was last Saturday, November 19th, when Elon Musk announced that he would be giving away one million dollars daily until November 5th, the date of the elections, only to registered voters in the seven swing states.

Elon Musk could be breaking a federal law that prohibits paying people to register to vote

The Department of Justice would have sent a letter to the Political Action Committee or Super PAC, warning them that they would start an investigation, as they would be breaking an election law that prohibits paying people to register to vote.

In order to participate in this lottery, two requirements are demanded: the first one is that the person must be a registered voter in one of the seven swing states, and the second one is to sign an online petition in support of the First and Second amendments.

The weekend that Elon Musk announced that initiative, he awarded two one million dollar prizes, on Saturday to a man in Harrisburg, and on Sunday a woman in Pittsburgh won it.

The billionaire has provided $75 million to the super PAC to date, becoming an important part of Donald Trump's campaign to reclaim the White House.

A group of former prosecutors and other former US government officials sent a letter to the Department of Justice requesting to start an investigation, as they may be violating the federal law that prohibits paying individuals to register to vote.
