Kamala Harris says Donald Trump is a “fascist” in a new escalation of attacks between the candidates

The Democratic candidate reacted this way to the revelations of John Kelly, former Chief of Staff in the Trump administration.

John Kelly, a former marine who served as Secretary of Homeland Security and Chief of Staff in the government of Donald Trump, made shocking revelations to the New York Times regarding the alleged dictatorial inclinations of the current Republican Party candidate that have stirred up the political atmosphere in the United States less than two weeks before the presidential elections on November 5th.

“Without a doubt, the former president belongs to the far-right, he is an authoritarian, admires dictators, that's what has been said... So he definitely fits the general definition of a fascist,” Kelly said, adding that “on more than one occasion he commented: ‘You know, Hitler also did some good things’”. The former Chief of Staff stated that Trump knew very little about history.

A spokesperson for Donald Trump's campaign denied the veracity of the statements made by Kelly.

Kamala Harris reacted strongly to Kelly's revelations.

On Wednesday night, during a forum organized by CNN, the Democratic Party candidate raised the tone of her statements against Trump after the audios of John Kelly were released.

The host Anderson Cooper asked Kamala Harris if she believed Donald Trump was a "fascist" and she replied: "Yes, I do. I do. And I also believe that we have to trust those who know him best on this matter", referring to Kelly and other military personnel who have given similar accounts.

Harris reiterated that the Republican candidate is "unstable" and "incapable of serving": "If Trump wins, he will sit there, unstable and unhinged, plotting his revenge, plotting his retribution, creating a list of enemies."

Hours earlier, in a conversation with journalists at her Washington residence, Harris told a reporter that "it is deeply concerning and incredibly dangerous that Donald Trump invokes Adolf Hitler, the man responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jews and hundreds of thousands of Americans."

The Democratic candidate’s statements occurred 24 hours after Trump called her “lazy as hell”, “crazy”, and “the worst”.
