FEASTERVILLE-TREVOSE, Pennsylvania, USA (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took over the fryer at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on Sunday before holding an impromptu press conference where he answered questions through the drive-thru window.

In front of journalists and collaborators, an employee showed the former president how to place the fry baskets in the oil, sauté the fries, and place them in the boxes with a shovel. Trump, a fast food enthusiast and a well-known germaphobe, was surprised that he didn't have to touch the fries with his hands.

"A great deal of knowledge is required to do it well and do it quickly," said Trump with a smile, setting aside the jacket of his suit and putting on an apron over his shirt and tie.
The visit occurred while he was trying to refute the accounts of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who during her campaign events claimed that she worked at the fast food chain while studying at university. Trump has said, without presenting evidence, that it never happened.
A huge crowd gathered outside the Feasterville-Trevose restaurant, located in Bucks County, one of the politically undecided areas in northern Philadelphia. The establishment was closed to the public for Trump's visit. The former president later appeared at an event in Lancaster and was also present at the NFL game where the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the New York Jets.
After delivering several orders through the drive-thru window, Trump - still wearing an apron - leaned out to answer questions from the press gathered outside. The Republican, who has consistently promoted falsehoods about his electoral defeat in 2020, said he would respect the results of next month's election "if it's a fair election."
He joked about serving a reporter an ice cream cone and when another asked if he had any message for Harris, who turned 60 on Sunday, Trump replied: "I would say 'Happy birthday, Kamala'," and added, "I think I'll send her flowers."
