Elon Musk continues to be very active in the United States presidential campaign in support of Republican candidate Donald Trump. In his most recent speech during a rally, he defended the right to bear arms and compared the importance of being armed to the recent presidential elections in Venezuela, where people did not have a way to defend themselves against “a false election.”
The words of the owner of Tesla, who is the richest person in the world, were spoken this Thursday during an America PAC event at the Ridley High School auditorium in Folsom.
"The right to bear arms is important. Look at what happened in Venezuela: they had a fake election, Maduro lost massively, with like 70% of votes against him; but the people don't have a way to defend themselves and he remains in power," Elon Musk stated on Thursday, with a huge American flag displayed behind him.
With the slogan "Make America Great Again," he emphasized the importance of standing up for oneself. For 15 minutes, he addressed the audience, urging them to vote overwhelmingly for Donald Trump.
Elon Musk, Venezuela, and its differences with Nicolás Maduro
After the presidential elections on July 28th in Venezuela, Elon Musk began to spread his position of rejection towards the results of the National Electoral Council (CNE) in this country, which declared Nicolás Maduro as the winner without having shown the voting records so far.
“The town voted overwhelmingly for González,” Musk said shortly after the presidential elections, referring to the opposition candidate Edmundo González. After that, Maduro labeled him as his “archenemy”.

The confrontation escalated to the point where they both challenged each other to fight, but Musk set the condition that "if I win, he resigns as dictator of Venezuela; if he wins, I invite him on a free trip to Mars."
Later, Maduro ordered the suspension of the social network in Venezuela, and although he said the measure was for 10 days, to date, this platform remains blocked in the country.
