Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs will remain detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, while awaiting his trial on May 5, 2025. This Thursday, the rapper and music producer made his first court appearance in Manhattan, and his image was far from the luxury and fame he has always portrayed as part of the artistic world.

After his hearing, it was revealed that he was dressed in inmate clothing and chained at the ankles. The media presented illustrations of the moment, showing how he looked, and also how everything was in court, where not only his lawyers attended, but also his 84-year-old mother Janice Combs, and six of his seven children.

The Mirror presented this Friday a photo of Sean 'Diddy' Combs chained up, while he is sitting inside a police van. In the image, his face is not visible, only his legs with chains around his ankles. The rapper is seen behind a grille wearing his beige prison uniform and sports shoes with white soles and black uppers.

It is the first photograph of the music mogul after being incarcerated. At 54, the entire empire he built is being called into question, due to charges of sex trafficking and organized crime for which he will be tried.

Sean 'Diddy' Combs and his denied requests

Sean 'Diddy' Combs' lawyers have already made three requests for bail. AP reported that the first two were appealed on September 30th before the 2nd Circuit Federal Appeals Court, but Circuit Judge William J. Nardini denied immediate release on bail.

AP reports that in a hearing held three weeks ago, a judge rejected the defense's proposal of a $50 million bail for the singer to be placed under house arrest with GPS monitoring and limited visits.

Judge Andrew L. Carter Jr. said there is "clear and convincing evidence" that 'Diddy' is a danger to society and asserted the need for him to remain in jail so that he does not obstruct the investigation or threaten the victims.
