Sean “Diddy” Combs is in the same section of the jail as cryptocurrency scammer Sam Bankman-Fried

Combs, 54, is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.

Sean “Diddy” Combs is now in a new section of the jail. The producer and rapper was transferred to the same area where convicted cryptocurrency scammer Sam Bankman-Fried is detained, according to NBC News sources.

According to three sources, the area is only reserved for detainees with "special protection." Combs, 54, has been in custody since last week at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, a federal jail known for violence and poor care.

Bankman-Fried, 32 years old and who stole more than 8 billion dollars, will be in the same area as Diddy and it is described as a barracks-style area with around 18 to 20 inmates with "special protection."

In the area are only high-profile defendants and individuals who have collaborated with investigations. Although it is public, it has additional security.

A spokesperson from the Federal Bureau of Prisons told NBC News: "For privacy and security reasons, the (FBOP) does not provide information on confinement conditions, including housing assignments or internal security practices of any particular incarcerated individual."

Bankman-Fried, known as SBF, was found guilty in November and received his sentence in March of this year to 25 years in federal prison.

Combs is awaiting his trial without the right to bail

Combs was arrested last week on charges of organized crime conspiracy, sex trafficking, and other charges. He has not been convicted yet, but he maintains his innocence and is awaiting his trial. According to prosecutors, Combs used his power to control and threaten his victims, ensuring their silence through blackmail and promises of professional opportunities.

The Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn is located on 29th Street in East Brooklyn and has a total of 1,616 inmates.
