Prince Harry urges people to vote in the United States elections and calls for rejecting messages of hate

A few weeks before meeting the new US president, the prince made a call.

The Archewell Foundation of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is calling for voting in the US elections. The initiative took place on September 17th, also known as National Voter Registration Day, and to honor the day, the couple wrote personalized letters to encourage unregistered voters to register and vote.

Archewell Foundation urges to vote

"Voting is not just a right; it is a fundamental way to influence the destiny of our communities," according to a statement shared on the website of the Archewell Foundation, along with photos of the initiative.

"At Archewell Foundation, we recognize that civic engagement, regardless of the political party one belongs to, is essential to achieve a more just and equitable world. By participating in initiatives like this, our goal is to spread the message that all voices matter," the statement continues.

“We invite you to join us in this important effort,” the message said, with a link to Vote Forward. “Together, let's make sure that every eligible voter is informed and empowered to participate in shaping the future of the United States,” concluded the Archewell Foundation.

Will Prince Harry vote in the US?

"In these elections, I won't be able to vote here in the United States, but many of you may not know that I have never been able to vote in the United Kingdom in my entire life," said Prince Harry, referring to the neutrality that members of the royalty must maintain in politics."

Harry also advised that "as we approach November, it is vital that we reject hate speech, misinformation, and negativity online," a message that Meghan Markle has also commented on in other occasions based on her experience.

This is not the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a call to attend the electoral polls.

“I know what it is to have a voice and also what it is to feel voiceless,” said the Duchess of Sussex in a statement. “I also know that many men and women have risked their lives so that we can be heard. And that opportunity, that fundamental right, is in our ability to exercise our right to vote and make all our voices heard.”
