This past Sunday, Prince Harry celebrated a very important date: his 40th birthday. The second son of King Charles III marked another year around the sun at a time when he is very estranged from the British Crown, especially from his brother, Prince William, with whom he reportedly hasn’t spoken in years.
Despite the roughness that exists between the Windsors and the youngest son of Charles III and Lady Di, the royal family has taken advantage of this special moment to send him a message after years of silence.
What message did the British royal family send to Prince Harry?
Through their social media, the British royal family shared a photo of the Duke of Sussex to celebrate his 40th birthday. However, the loving gesture was overshadowed by a detail that people quickly noticed: his wife, Meghan Markle, was cropped out of the image.
The photograph of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was taken in DogPatch during their overseas trip to Dublin, Ireland, in 2018, while they were still working as members of the royal family.
With this, it becomes more evident what was often reported and that the former actress was not at all accepted by the royal family, a reason that led to there always being a certain tension between the royals and Harry's wife.
The distant royal family had not made any public statements about Harry's birthday since Queen Elizabeth died in September 2022, and furthermore, they did not congratulate Markle on her birthday last August 4th.
It is important to remember that Prince Harry made the decision to renounce his royal duties (and certain benefits) after seeing Meghan and her family's security in danger. In his autobiography, the lack of importance that the royal family gave to Markle's protection was one of the main reasons he decided to step back, and even the trigger for a fight with William.
Harry and his wife have been estranged from their relatives since they left the royal family and moved to California in 2020.
