The renowned actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg came to the defense of Taylor Swift and told the vice presidential candidate, J.D. Vance, to “shut up” after he criticized the American singer for showing her support for Kamala Harris.

Vance had told Fox News that the singer is "completely disconnected from the interests and issues of most Americans" as, being a millionaire Swift, she is unaware of the problems that concern middle-class voters.

In the show The View, Goldberg responded to the politician: "You don't know how it affects her. You don't know about her money. How are you going to talk about her? Shut up, J.D. I'm sorry, that was very rude. Stop talking, J.D."
However, after returning from a commercial break, the 68-year-old celebrity apologized for reacting in that way. "The reason I apologized is because I hate it when other experts tell me to shut up, and it's not a good thing to say to someone else, I take it back. But the implication is... shhh!"
"We were talking about how the fact that Taylor Swift is endorsing Harris-Walz is affecting the Republicans. It's serious. It's really scaring them," added Whoopi.
The hosts of the program that airs on ABC discussed the impact of the singer-songwriter's endorsement of the Democratic party candidates, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Last Tuesday night, the artist revealed that her vote in the elections will be for Kamala, after the presidential debate between her and Donald Trump ended.
"I am going to vote for Kamala Harris because she fights for the rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to fight for them. I consider her a gifted and strong-handed leader, and I believe that we can achieve more as a country if we are led by calm rather than chaos," wrote Swift in light of the upcoming presidential elections.
