A man from Philadelphia became a trending topic on social media for his way of finding a partner. Dave Cline, 28, rented a billboard at the intersection of South 34th Street and Wharton, a impoverished area of the city known as Gray’s Ferry.

Anyway, the quote that Dave is looking for doesn't necessarily have to be from the area.

The message on the billboard says: "Dave is single! Do you want to go on a date with Dave? Send him a message to @date_dave_philly".

Meet Dave Cline and his curious way of finding love

At 28 years old, Cline hopes to find love in someone who appreciates her sense of humor, and her investment of $1,554 has paid off, as she previously had nearly 2,000 followers on her Instagram account (@Date_Dave_Philly) and now she has over 12,000.

"But the benefits have not only yielded results in numbers. Cline told local channel NBC 10 that she already has some appointments scheduled and is looking forward to them. "I hope they will like me for who I am and not just for appearing on a billboard," said Cline."

The self-proclaimed good cook, with "normal hobbies" and proud father of a cat, rented the fence over 15 days ago.

On her Instagram, Cline says that her direct messages are open and that you can send her a message to chat or even go on a date.

One of Dave's reasons for choosing the billboard was that he was tired of traditional dating apps: “Finding people and navigating the dating world, as it is now in the Internet era, is very different,” he told the Washington Post.

Cline’s case is not unique. In Texas, a person did something similar, and in San Francisco, people look for partners by posting flyers on the city walls.
