Harris will have the first opportunity to speak deeply since Biden dropped his bid for a second term and endorsed her.

Interview with CNN is crucial for Kamala Harris

"With the interview, Harris' extraordinarily truncated campaign enters a new phase after the convention. Her team anticipates increased scrutiny as she and Walz enter the final weeks before the start of early voting. Harris has also been preparing for a debate on September 10 with her Republican rival, former President Donald Trump," CNN writes on its website.

Although Harris has had the opportunity to respond to journalists, she has not conducted any intimate interviews that delve into the proposals she has as a candidate.

Republicans' criticisms of Harris

Nevertheless, Harris is the target of criticism from Donald Trump and J.D. Vance.

“I think it is truly shameful, both for Kamala Harris and for many of the American media outlets participating in this, to have a person who has been the presumptive Democratic Party candidate for 17 days and refuses to answer a single question from the American media,” Vance said in Wisconsin earlier this month.
