Just a few hours after it became known that Nicolás Maduro will remain as president of Venezuela, the international community expressed both support and opposition to the election results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE), the referee in the elections held this Sunday, July 28, which are currently being heavily criticized in many regions of the world.

Rejection and Dismissal
With the current results showing Maduro with 51.2%, compared to the 44.2% of opposition candidate Edmundo González, the first countries to express their rejection and request a recount of votes were the United States, Argentina, Germany, Chile, Peru, Guatemala, and Costa Rica.

The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, expressed his "serious concern" about the validity of the results announced by the electoral commission. In Argentina, Javier Milei also rejected the results and stated through his social media that Argentina "will not recognize another fraud," adding that the citizens "chose to end the communist dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro."
The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, quickly spoke out upon hearing the results, describing them as "difficult to believe" and stating that he will not recognize "any result that is not verifiable."
Those who did recognize him
China, Russia, Iran, Cuba, and Nicaragua recognized the reelection of Nicolás Maduro.
The Asian country congratulated Venezuela through its spokesperson from the foreign ministry, Lin Jian, who described the election day as a "successful celebration" and Maduro for his re-election. On the other hand, Vladimir Putin expressed that he "would like to reiterate the willingness to continue our constructive work on the current bilateral and international agenda. Remember that you are always welcome in Russian lands."
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Naser Kananí, congratulated "the people and the government of Venezuela for the successful holding of the presidential elections in this country, as well as the elected president of the Venezuelan people," and for Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, he stated that "the dignity and valor of the Venezuelan people triumphed over pressures and manipulations."
In Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega greeted the "great victory of the heroic people" of Venezuela. The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, highlighted "the fact that the will of the Venezuelan people was respected at the polls," and the president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, also congratulated Maduro and the "brave people of Venezuela for their undeniable triumph."
