The tech mogul Elon Musk is once again at the center of controversy. The CEO of Tesla and owner of the social network X (formerly Twitter) made some harsh statements during an interview with Jordan B. Peterson about transgender issues and his relationship with his daughter, who transitioned from male to female. The entrepreneur has been criticized in the past for his anti-LGBT+ stances.

What did Elon Musk say about his transgender daughter and 'woke' culture?

I was deceived into giving puberty blockers to my son. These are sterilization drugs. My son Xavier is dead, killed by the woke virus. This is why I promised to destroy the woke virus,” he said. The concept of ‘woke virus’ is commonly used to refer to situations related to the defense of minorities or feminism, especially on the social network run by Musk, X.”

Musk has claimed to have felt deceived by the people who recommended him to act in that direction. “I was tricked into it. They didn't tell me that puberty blockers are actually sterilization drugs. I lost my son. They call it ‘deadnaming’ for a reason, and it's because your child is dead. That's why my son Xavier has been killed by the awake mind virus.”

Musk’s daughter, who officially changed her name to Vivian Jenna in June 2022, filed a request to change her last name. She justified it by saying, “I no longer live with my biological father and do not wish to be associated with him in any way.” Since then, she has been using her mother’s last name, Wilson, who divorced the businessman in 2008.

Despite his current statements, in 2020 Musk tweeted expressing an opinion completely different from his current one. “I absolutely support trans people, but the whole pronoun thing is an aesthetic nightmare,” he said back then.
