Trump and his appearance after the attack

Trump appeared at the Republican National Convention on Monday, receiving thunderous applause and cheers from his supporters inside as he made his first public appearance since an armed man attempted to take his life.

Hamill, a harsh critic of Trump and a declared liberal, found humor in the bandage the former president was wearing.

Social Media Criticism

"FIRST APPEARANCE of a ridiculously large ear bandage, apparently not needed before tonight," Hammill wrote in X along with ear and laughing emojis to accompany a photo of Trump at the Republican National Convention.

The "Star Wars" actor was quickly criticized on social media.

Attack on social media after the comment

"Have you ever been shot, Mark? Shut up," replied comedian Tim Young.

Not the Bee, the non-satirical branch of Babylon Bee, responded: "It's so depressing how pathetic Luke Skywalker is in real life."

Republican strategist Matt Whitlock asked: "So... is this your life now? Is this what you do?" "Dude, you are completely evil," one person responded while another added, "Pretty classless."

Radio host Anthony Cumia wrote: "Who could have imagined in 1977, when I left the cinema absolutely amazed after watching Star Wars, that 47 years later the hero of that movie would turn out to be a tremendous idiot?"

They also accused Hammill of “galvanizing support for Trump,” ridiculed him with memes and unflattering images, and asked him: “How big do you think is an acceptable bandage to receive a shot in the head?”
