Ingrid Andress admitted to being drunk while singing the United States anthem at the Home Run Derby

The country singer and four-time Grammy nominee, took the microphone to sing the anthem before the event started.

The national anthem of the United States, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” is a piece that usually fills attendees with pride at any event. However, the performance by Ingrid Andress last Monday at the Global Life Field in Texas, during the Home Run Derby, left many disappointed and sparked a wave of criticism on social media.

Ingrid Andress, a country singer and four-time Grammy nominee, took the microphone to sing the anthem before the event started. Her performance was immediately labeled as the worst rendition of the anthem in the history of any show in the United States.

Many internet users compared his performance to Fergie's infamous presentation during the NBA All-Star Game, where players were also seen laughing at the peculiar interpretation. Memes and jokes quickly flooded social media and have not stopped. Andress's singing caused laughter in the stands and jokes among the participants of the Home Run Derby.

"My ears are bleeding. One of the worst renditions of the national anthem in history," posted Michael Schwab, a journalist specializing in the Astros. "Do you remember Whitney Houston's national anthem performance at the Super Bowl? This is exactly the opposite," commented C. Trent Rosecrans.

Some users pointed out that at least one of the baseball players in the Derby seemed to be holding back laughter. Ingrid Andress, known for her debut album "Lady Like" and her recent work "Good Person," has not commented on her performance on Monday and it is expected that she will never touch on the subject.

After the wave of criticism, Ingrid went to social media, specifically Instagram, where through a story she said that she was completely drunk during the national anthem performance, revealing that was the reason why it didn't come out as expected.

He assured that he would be entering a rehabilitation center immediately to try to improve and prevent this from happening again. It is unknown what will happen with other upcoming performances he had scheduled for the next few months, including shows in Nashville, Denver, Minneapolis, and Ocean City. Despite the controversy, Andress continues to work on his third album in the studio.
