According to international media reports, Donald Trump was displaying a graph on border crossing figures when gunshots were heard. At that moment, and as captured in a video circulating on the web, the former president extended his right hand to his neck and appeared to have blood on his face.

The security team acted quickly and evacuated Trump from the stage. At least seven security team members rushed towards him and quickly removed him from the area.

According to EFE, it is not clear whether the shots came from the security services or from a supposed attacker. However, the captured images showed Trump being taken away from the podium with an apparent injury to the ear, which appears to be bloody.

So far, the health status of the former president is unknown, however, despite the apparent wound on his face and the visible blood, the candidate would have emerged unharmed.

Meanwhile, authorities went to the scene of the incident to gather the necessary information for the investigation and identify the person or persons responsible for the attack.

After the attack, through his X account, the former U.S. president posted a message in which he assured that he "will never stop fighting to save the United States."
