What has been reported now about the death of Matthew Perry?

Immediately, speculation arose about what could have been the reason or circumstance of the actor's death, and the authorities began the relevant investigations. A few months after his passing, it was reported that the death had been accidental, due to side effects of the ketamine treatment Perry was undergoing to treat his opioid addiction.

However, as reported by People, in May of this year, the Los Angeles police announced that they had started investigating the circumstances of his death after the coroner presented their final report.

The investigation involved not only the LAPD but also worked in conjunction with the DEA and the United States Postal Inspection Service to determine where Perry obtained the deadly ketamine. The investigation is said to have started in December, but was only made public months later.

The report ensures that a source told the media that it will be up to the US Attorney General’s office to decide if charges will be filed against these other individuals involved in the death. However, People magazine pointed out that the office did not provide comments to the magazine when contacted yesterday.

Matthew Perry spoke about his struggle to overcome addiction in his autobiographical book ‘Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing’. “I wanted to share my story when I was sure I wouldn’t go back to the dark side again,” he told People in 2022. “I had to wait until I was sober to be able to write it all. I was certain it would help people if I wrote it.”
