How did Super Mario from Mario Bros appear in the game between Croatia and Albania?

The famous Nintendo character, who also starred in his own animated film last year, was caught on camera by fans who were enjoying the game. None other than on the cleats of Jasir Asani, Albanian footballer who assisted Laçi in the first goal of the game and put Albania ahead at the beginning of the match.

This was a change of boots compared to the first match against Italy, as Asani, one of the most dangerous players on his team, wore common Puma boots. However, it seems that for this match he requested a special edition to pay tribute to Super Mario, as the cameras captured.

Dramatic draw between Albania and Croatia

In the second part of the match, the Balkan team reacted to the score against them, with just one goal from Kramaric in the 74th minute, and then increased their lead with an own goal from Gjasula two minutes later. Unfortunately for the team led by Luka Modric, Gjasula himself recovered from his mistake and scored a goal in the Croatian area in the 95th minute, resulting in the final draw.

This result now leaves the Croatia national team against the ropes, although they still depend on themselves: they need to beat Italy in the last matchday to have a chance of advancing to the next stage, as the top four third-placed teams also qualify for the round of 16. With the draw, Albania also remains pending the last group matchday, where they will face Spain.
