The “Roast of Tom Brady” on Netflix, a live show that is difficult to explain and where the best NFL player in history was subjected to harsh jokes, many of them related to sexuality, infidelity, his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen, and his relationship with jiu-jitsu professor Joaquim Valente, had strong family consequences. But one very unexpected consequence was the distancing of the Brazilian model from her current partner.
According to InTouch Weekly, the "exposure was too much" for Valente, who, according to what is described in the article, "is not used to all the attention he receives."
What were the "jokes" at Tom Brady's "Roast"?
The Netflix show, which was held live at the Forum in Los Angeles, was hosted by actor Kevin Hart who, within minutes, told Tom Brady, "you are one of the smartest quarterbacks in history, how did you not realize the karate guy (referring to Joaquim Valente, a jiu-jitsu professor)? Eight karate classes a day and (Gisele) is still a white belt. Everyone noticed." All of this accompanied by sexual innuendos.
Several of those who took the stage criticized Brady for the alleged infidelity of his ex-wife and the divorce announced in 2022.
For example, Drew Bledsoe, the star the Patriots had who lost his starting position to Brady after an injury, told him, "I've experienced a couple of things you never will: being the first pick in a Draft and a 28th wedding anniversary..."
Why did Valente stop seeing Bündchen?
The jiu-jitsu professor, who is Brazilian like Gisele Bündchen, was seen several times at the mansion that the Brazilian model has in Bal Harbour, in northern Miami and almost in front of Indian Creek, where Tom Brady’s current house is located. The goal of Bündchen and Brady is to live close by for their children, Benjamin and Vivian.
However, since the end of April, Valente has not been seen at Gisele's house, raising speculation that the relationship is broken or "on hold".
The model would blame Tom Brady for this distancing, as during the "Roast" she focused all the attention on Valente as the one responsible for the divorce with the player, turning him into part of the rumors.
In a special interview with Hulu a couple of months ago, Bündchen hinted that she was not alone, although she did not acknowledge whether Valente was her new partner, and categorically denied having been unfaithful to Tom Brady.
