Hirving Lozano became the first franchise player in the history of San Diego FC and on June 13th, the club officially presented him to the media.

At an event that took place at Snapdragon Stadium in this border city, the Mexican soccer player received a heartfelt welcome that brought tears to his eyes.

In said ceremony, the Aztec attacker expressed his excitement about starting a new project with the club, making it clear his commitment to making history and ensuring that playing in American soccer was a goal in his career.
"It is a great honor to join San Diego FC, it is a great opportunity to join a team with a positive mindset. I am excited to work towards making the team significant in the MLS and in the world," he mentioned.
"It's about making history in this club, in this league. Trying to continue raising my level of play and helping the club, I think for me it's a goal to come to the MLS," he added.
Why did he sign with San Diego?
Regarding the reasons for leaving the old continent at 28 years of age, Chucky Lozano confessed that the main reason for signing with San Diego was the treatment his family received, as well as the affection with which the public welcomed him, something that brought him to tears.
"I will continue at PSV for the next six months and in January I will join San Diego. This welcome was very important in making the decision. Immensely happy, with mixed feelings," he acknowledged.
"Everything came together to create this club, this project. Not many players have the opportunity to be in the position I am, it's a privilege and I don't think it was difficult to make that decision. I loved the city and the people, the project motivated me. I had several offers, but I chose this one because of the treatment towards my family, my tears are from the affection shown, I am very excited," he explained.
Even Hirving Lozano dedicated some words to Enrique Meza, the coach who debuted him in the First Division with Pachuca, stating that he is like a father to him.
“He is like a father figure in football, he has always followed me. I try to communicate a lot with him, we have had very nice conversations from Italy and every day he would give me a different piece of advice. I hold him dear, he has always supported me from the beginning, I have beautiful memories of him,” he concluded.
