It was through a video uploaded to his social media where the Mexican-American former boxer reprimanded the unified super middleweight champion for continuing to defame him about an alleged money robbery.

In that sense, the Golden Boy asked the man from Jalisco to be more careful with his surroundings, as he stated that there are people close to him who are stealing his money.

"Canelo, I saw another video where you keep talking shit about me, where you say that I stole money from you. Obviously, besides defaming me, you should look inwards, at your own circle, because I know, and it's a fact, that your people are stealing from you," he mentioned.

De la Hoya mocks Canelo

To make matters worse, Óscar de la Hoya added fuel to the fire and mocked Canelo Álvarez by mentioning that, after his fight against Jaime Munguía, he filled his pockets with money thanks to his fear of David Benavidez.

"By the way, you filled my pockets (with dollars). You made Munguía earn a lot of money all because you are afraid of David Benavidez, so screw you," he declared.

It is important to mention that during the press conference prior to the fight between the fighter from Guadalajara and the Destructor Munguía, Canelo and De la Hoya were on the verge of coming to blows. This happened after the fighter from Jalisco claimed that the Golden Boy is "a rat" who only profited from his image.
